Review of Slammin’ LadiesSLAMpeg 1819: Amber O’Neal vs La Rosa Negra – 7.5 mins

The opening minutes of this one fall contest are clearly dominated by Amber who kicks, punches, and hairmares La Rosa Negra around the ring. She drops her opponent with a faceplant and locks her in a Bodyscissors/Full Nelson combination. Showing tremendous power, La Rosa stands up while still locked in the hold! Even Amber is impressed, stating that “this little mamacita is strong”! La Rosa is finally able to battle back when she ducks Amber’s Clothesline and retaliates with one of her own. A couple of corner splashes and a Powerslam later, the blonde bombshell is staring at the lights while La Rosa scales the ropes for her lethal Frog Splash. A dubious call by the official leads to a controversial false-finish. This one only ends when one of these fierce competitors is sent to dreamland!

It’s not every often that I review Slammin’ Ladies vids, but a fan actually bought me this video just to review it. And I don’t know how I could say no to that. The reason I don’t frequent Slammin’ Ladies is mostly because I’ve been disappointed with their vids too often. The descriptions and previews don’t always paint the best picture and for someone like me who loves KOs and it’s important to know who wins or loses, I’m just left guessing too much and I can’t buy these vids with great confidence. At least that’s my opinion on them. This particular video however is quite good. Pure pro style action as you would expect from them. This match is between Amber O’Neal, who I know very well and La Rosa Negra, who I don’t really know. Both ladies clearly know what they are doing and the action is smooth flowing and flawless. The definite highlight is La Rosa jumping off the top rope, I don’t get to see that too often in my world. And the ending is good, something like you’d see on TV. The ref makes a bad call, La Rosa argues with him long enough for Amber to recover, she goes for the quick impact move, but doesn’t get the pin, whoever does manage to lock La Rosa in sleeper hold for the KO victory. I can’t really what I think about how La Rosa sold that KO, because the camera is always outside of the ring and La Rosa face is as far from the camera as possible so you don’t see a single facial reaction from La Rosa at all. Overall, this match is without a doubt fun to watch for the smooth pro style action, but just wish the camera would go in the ring and move around to give us the best view of the action at all times.

Overall Score: 9/10
